Being part of MCM’s success and growth has been a very gratifying and challenging experience. I’m proud of the work done by all our volunteers and staff, as well as the many success stories our program providers share daily with viewers in our community and beyond.
All of us are grateful for the individuals who had a vision for community media and came together to start McMinnville Community Media in 2000. Our board hired its first employee in 2001 and I am very pleased to hold the Director position since then.
My interest in local cable television began in high school in Minnesota doing play-by-play telecasts of school sports. Other professional experience includes positions in commercial television news, radio broadcasting, non-profit operations, and community radio management.
I have been working at MCM-TV for the past fifteen years. I am the Programming Coordinator and I am in charge of making sure all shows are scheduled and aired on the station. I graduated from Otterbein University just north of Columbus Ohio in 2001. I have a BA in Broadcasting/Communications. My passion has always been TV and film. Along with scheduling, I enjoy directing occasionally and going out to shoot sporting events.
Outreach and Digital Video Specialist
I started at MCM-TV in 2013, as the Digital Video Specialist and Outreach coordinator. I train and support the volunteer producers as well as support the wide variety of systems in house from the computers and edit stations, to the Cablecast on air system. I come to MCM from a varied background in film and video as well as education and have worked at a number of high profile and low profile places and several media oreinted institutes of higher learning in the Portland area.
I am the newest and youngest ever member of the MCM team. Being a recent graduate of McMinnville High School’s Publishing and Broadcasting Pathway I have had experience working in a studio since 2014. I contributed to and directed the Live at the Blackbird news program at the High School. In addition to overseeing the show, I acted in two plays and one musical in addition to playing Golf all four years. I also traveled to Germany and attended Germany’s highest level of schooling for a month (Thanks Kreisgymnasium Neuenburg!) I have been an honorable mention in the Student Media Olympics and won Outstanding SOAR student in 2017. I first volunteered at MCM for broadcasting starting in early 2014 and continued to cast the occasional game each year for MCM. I am blessed with this wonderful opportunity and plan to make the most of my time at MCM.
