MCM's training classes are designed to provide community members with the skills necessary to produce excellent quality television programs. Check out our offerings below. Pre-registration is required, so call today to reserve your slot in one of these exciting classes!

MCM Classes

PRODUCER PREVIEW: Find out what you can do at MCM!

Introduces new producers to MCM and community television. Tour the facility and learn about public access television and MCM’s mission. Discover how to get involved with MCM through program production and volunteering.

One session: 1 hour

Cost: Free

Prerequisite for all classes. CALL TO REGISTER.

INTRO to CAMERA: Learn camcorder and audio basics.

Participants will learn how to operate a digital video camera, record quality shots and superior audio.

One session: 2 hours

 


  erequisite: Producer Preview

Cost: Free with activity fee

Maximum enrollment: 6

 

ADVANCED CAMERA: For those who wish to work with slightly more professional gear.

Participants will learn manual camera operations and audio recording as well as advanced shooting techniques and project planning.

Two sessions: 2 hours per session.

EDITING: Final Cut Express - Three sessions of edit technique and craft

Learn to use Final Cut Express editing software. Final Cut is a professional editing application that is easy and fun to use.

This class requires a basic knowledge of computer use.

Three sessions: 2 hours per session.

Third session is by arrangement with instructor.

Prerequisite: Intro to Camera

Cost: $30

Maximum enrollment: 4

STUDIO: The challenge and exhilaration of multiple camera production.

 Learn how to make television programs in MCM’s 3 camera studio. Discover new skills on a studio production team! Learn to direct talent and technicians! Create eye popping graphics! Refine your camera skills. Release the technical director inside you! It’s fun, it’s fast and it’s live to tape!

Four sessions: 2 hours per sessions
